The current international borders were obviously not in place when the Pangea supercontinent existed. But this map relates two ideas (Pangea and Current International borders) into a single whole (system). This unlikely part-whole combination (whole is Pangea, parts are current International borders) makes for an interesting map. It also might give us a different perspective as a result.
